Lion Pride Community Update 12/8/23

Hanukkah acknowledgement: As we embrace the spirit of diversity and inclusivity at our school, we would like to acknowledge Hanukkah with our students, families, and staff. Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, holds significant cultural and religious importance for many members of our community. Students who participate in Hanukkah are welcomed to share how they and their families celebrate Hanukkah with their class during their community circle time or morning meeting.

Kwanzaa Celebration: On Wednesday December 13th, from 4:30pm to 6:30 pm join us as we gather to recognize, learn about, and celebrate Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa celebrates black history, values, family, community, and culture. The evening will include student performances, a black authors marketplace, family resources, and dinner.

Devices over Winter Break: As we approach the winter break, we want to ensure that our students continue to have access to educational resources, especially in the event of inclement weather. To facilitate this, your child’s teacher will be sending school-issued devices home for the duration of the break. We kindly request your cooperation in taking good care of these devices during the break.

Day before winter break: The school day will end 1 hour early (1:25 pm) on December 15th.

Winter break! School will be closed December 18-January 1, 2024 for winter break.
