Lion Pride Community Update 9/15/2023
Rainer Vista Playdate: Thank you to all the families who joined us for the Rainer Vista Playdate! We loved connecting with all the families!
Great First Week Kindergarten! We want to thank our kindergartners, their families, and teachers for a great first week! We are excited for what the years holds with our kinders!
Call for Club Leaders: We would love to invite our community to lead after-school enrichment clubs this Fall. We are seeking club leaders who can plan and lead clubs rooted in science, technology, engineering, arts, and/or math. Our club sessions will begin on October 16th and conclude on December 14th, spanning a total of eight sessions. The clubs will occur on either Tuesdays or Thursdays, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. To acknowledge your commitment as a club leader, you will receive a stipend of $500 upon successful completion of the club and fulfillment of the expectations delineated in the club leader agreement. Submit Club Leader Interest Form Winter 2024.
Family Hour: We will have “Family Hour” this year in our school library every Wednesday, starting on 9/20 from 12 pm to 1 pm. This is an opportunity for families to receive translation support, tech support, and other resources available from the school, PTA, or district! Please sign-in in the front office upon arrival.
Curriculum Night: Please join us for Curriculum Night on Thursday, October 12th from 4:30-6:30pm. You will have an opportunity to hear from your student’s classroom teacher about the curriculum, meet school staff, and have dinner as a community. More information to come soon.
School Picture Day: Individual picture day is on Friday, September 22nd! Students will come home with forms AFTER picture day and families will be able to order pictures. Get ready to say Cheese!
First Day Packets: Please have the completed First Day Packet, including the signed Device Agreement returned to your student’s teacher by September 25th. We are asking every family to do their part by filling out the 2023-2024 Family Income Survey. Why is this Survey Important? The Family Income Survey provides your student’s school with a way to collect household income information. This information is important because it helps your school receive federal and state funding. The form is simple to fill out and confidential. The information will only be used to help your school receive funding from state and federal programs.
Volunteer In The School: Talk to your students’ teachers about classroom help. In addition, the school is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support lunch duty, and recess duty (monitor games, and to support transitions from lunchroom to recess and from recess to the building). Mon-Fri from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (90 mins each day). Contact the front office for more details, or visit the SPS website to learn how to be a volunteer.
