Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!!:  We are extremely grateful and we acknowledge all our families who identify as Asian American and Pacific Islander! Feel free to reach out to your student’s teacher to collaborate on recognizing your heritage and culture!   

State Assessments: Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA) will take place from April 29 to May 30th for all 3rd -5th graders. If you have questions about state testing, please email Mr. Thomas at qothomas@seattleschools.org.   

LGBTQ+ Pride Event: We’re thrilled to extend a warm invitation to join us on June 7th, from 5 PM to 6:30 PM, for our vibrant ‘Pride Community Circle’ right in the heart of our cafeteria. Expect an evening brimming with love, support, and celebration! Explore our LGBTQ+ resource tables, dive into engaging activities, and come together for a heartwarming community circle. Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or proudly stand as an ally, all are welcome to join in the fun and festivities. Let’s honor diversity, embrace inclusivity, and show our unwavering support for our LGBTQ+ families, staff, and allies. Mark your calendars and let’s make this Pride celebration one to remember! Juneteenth Celebration!: Juneteenth Festival is right around the corner, happening on Wednesday, June 12th, from 4:30 to 7. We’re excited to welcome back the Seattle Buffalo Soldiers, alongside a host of other amazing community organizations. Join us on the playground as we honor the struggles and triumphs of  African Americans, all while basking in the spirit of independence and freedom. We have a great line-up including our annual John Muir talent show, engaging activities, and valuable community resources. And hey, what’s a celebration without some scrumptious treats? We’re hosting a potluck and inviting families to bring their favorite dishes to share with the community.  If you’re feeling extra generous and want to lend a hand to make this event even more spectacular, we’re on the lookout for event volunteers food donations.
