Lion Pride Community Update 4/26/2024

Multicultural Day!!: Families, what a blast we had at Multicultural Day! Your presence truly made the event shine, from the lively assembly to the vibrant festival. A huge shoutout to all our sponsors and everyone who contributed to making the day a hit! And let’s give a big round of applause and huge Thank You to Ms. T for her fantastic work in setting up an unforgettable evening! Thank you all for being part of the excitement! 

Multilingual Family Hour: Weds, May 8, 12-1 pm, Muir Library: PTA representatives will be attending to share treats with families and ways to connect with other parents in the community through communications, volunteering at events, attending PTA meetings, and more. Interpreters will be available.  

State Assessments: Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA) will take place from April 29 to May 30th for all 3rd -5th graders. If you have questions about state testing, please email Mr. Thomas at qothomas@seattleschools.org.   

“Move Around the World” with the Muir Lions: Monday, April 29th, and Friday, May 3rd: Funds raised are distributed among 17 schools using an equitable funding distribution model. 

4/29: Spirit Morning during drop-off — kick off our Move-A-Thon week on the playground! 

5/3: Move & Groove Day! Cheer on our Lions as they get active outside!  

• 8:10 – 8:40am — 5th Grade 
• 8:50 – 9:20am — 2nd Grade 
• 9:30 – 10:00am — 3rd Grade/Mr. Barnes class 
• 10:10 – 10:40am — 4th Grade 
• 12:45 – 1:15pm — Student Lunch & Recess Break 
• 1:25 – 1:55pm — Kindergarten 

5/4, 1-3pm: Mount Baker Park community bake sale and play date

PTA Working Meeting:  Tues May 14, 6:00-7:30 pm, Online/Zoom Only. All are welcome! At this meeting, we will nominate the new executive team and discuss the PTA budget, as well as other items (e.g., volunteer opps, advocacy). Join the PTA working Zoom meeting.
